the Fort (ii)
The Fort II re-works the original material constituents of its predecessor (see The Fort) and deliberately omits any information in text form except the title. The work was shown in a neutral space less than 1km from the site of the Scottish found footage.Instead of attempting to affect an observable change in the original footage, the original tape itself is combined and contained within a plaster cylinder that is free to roll on a level plane. The two separate audio tracks are played back at low volume simultaneously as in the original set up, this time acting as a kind memory of the initial piece. Self-reference was conscious an necessary for ourselves and for this piece. No direct physical influence was observed during the 48 hour duration of this work
